‘Sea of tranquility’ – wedding bliss at Seafield Hotel & Spa

Get away from it all for your wedding celebration

Get away from it all for your wedding celebration

There’s something special about Wexford’s coastal line with its beautiful villages & some pretty spectacular beaches.  Then you find somewhere like Seafield, nestled in a beautifully remote cocoon on an expansive site boasting a golf course and wonderful walks.

Definitely  not your traditional or regular hotel, this purpose built luxury property boasts extras which other hotels frequently lack.  I had heard of its Oceo Spa & was eagerly waiting to try it and I was in no way disappointed.  The bedrooms are spacious and beautifully appointed and I was delighted with my south facing top floor terrace overlooking the grounds & the Irish Sea. The beautiful weather we had those few days gave glorious sunsets over the distant hills which I could enjoy from the comfort of my bedroom & terrace.

Every room comes with comfortable robes & slippers so after you slip into them simply make your way to the nearby elevator which brings you straight down to the lower ground floor Oceo Spa entrance.  This is an experience!  Winner of European spa of the year 2011-14, this adult only facility is beautifully relaxing.  It has everything and more you would expect of such a facility.  The highlights for me were the outdoor heated pool and jacuzzi jets, state of the art indoor pool and various steam, sauna & Hammam rooms.  It is very easy to unwind here and not find a few hours passing.  There are also extra treatments available from massages to facials.

The hotel offers a range of packages & function rooms for those contemplating having their wedding celebration here and is also licenced for civil ceremonies & civil partnerships.

The Aine Suite in the main building can seat up to 320 guests and is a beautifully expansive ballroom with large glass walls overlooking the grounds with private bar facilities and wonderful terraces.

The Pavilion suite attached to the golf club house can accommodate up to 150 guests and overlooks the golf course & the Irish Sea.

What sticks in my mind about this venue is the wonderfully relaxing atmosphere and it’s incredibly accommodating and friendly professional team for which nothing was a problem.

Do not leave here without taking their private leafy walk by the river down to the beautiful sheltered beach.  I spent a wonderful sunny evening here just listening to the sea and basking in the sun practically on my own before returning for a really decent meal in the lounge.  I will be back many times I suspect and would love to be invited here as a guest to a wedding celebration.
